Floor finishes and coating systems
The finish is the visible part; the system underneath is what makes it last. Here is how the four finishes we install most often compare, and where each one makes sense.

Full-flake epoxy
Vinyl flakes broadcast to refusal over an epoxy base, then sealed with clear. The most popular garage finish in Conroe because it hides dust, tire marks, and minor slab flaws, and it adds grip when wet.
Best for
Garages, workshops, mudrooms, dog runs

Metallic epoxy
Pigment is moved through the base coat by hand, producing flow patterns that look like polished stone and never repeat. A statement finish for spaces where the floor is part of the design.
Best for
Living areas, showrooms, salons, man caves

Solid-color epoxy
A single, uniform color with a clear topcoat. Easy to clean, easy to patch, and easy to stripe for traffic lanes, parking bays, and safety zones.
Best for
Warehouses, shops, back-of-house, service bays

Polyaspartic topcoat
A fast-curing, UV-stable clear coat applied over epoxy or flake. It resists yellowing, hot-tire pickup, and chemicals, which is why it is the topcoat we recommend across Southeast Texas.
Best for
Any floor that sees sun, tires, or chemicals
Finish comparison
A quick reference. Every floor we quote is still specified for the slab and the way you use the space.
| Finish | Look | Slip resistance | UV stability | Upkeep |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Full-flake | Speckled, hides dirt | High | High with polyaspartic clear | Sweep, occasional damp mop |
| Metallic | Marble-like, unique | Moderate (add grip if needed) | High with polyaspartic clear | Damp mop, avoid abrasives |
| Solid color | Uniform, clean | Moderate (add grit if needed) | Depends on topcoat | Easy to clean and patch |
| Polyaspartic | Clear topcoat over any finish | Set by the base finish | Very high | Protects the finish below |
Not sure which finish to choose?
It usually comes down to two questions: how much traffic and sun will the floor see, and how important is hiding dust and marks? Tell us the space and we will narrow it down. For more detail, read our guide on metallic vs flake epoxy or compare epoxy and polyaspartic.
